The objectives of ASTA/NJ are to:
• support and encourage the teaching of string instruments at all educational levels,
• to promote and improve orchestras at all educational levels, and
• to establish the highest artistic and pedagogical standards.
Once you are a member of ASTA, you will automatically become a member of ASTA/NJ.
ASTA/NJ is honored to have been named Most Improved Chapter in 2012 at the National Conference held in Atlanta, Georgia. Our President of ASTA/NJ for the past two years, Erika Boras Tesi, was awarded a well-deserved Best State Chapter Leader in 2012 as well. Congratulations, Erika!

These programs include our String Symposium; ASTACAP, Certificate Advancement Program for students; CMI, the Chamber Music Institute; Summer String In; Solo Strings Competition; and Cadet Teacher Training.
Please join us for our upcoming 14th Annual String Symposium, Friday, October 26, 2012 to be held at Rossey Hall, New Jersey City University, Jersey City. Workshops, Clinics and Master Classes for both Studio Teachers and Elementary/Secondary String Teachers will be offered. Professional Development Hours are available.
Members can also sign up to be listed in our new ASTA/NJ Studio Teacher Directory Page which lists private string teachers in New Jersey by county.
